Academic Monograph Fee Policy

At Center for Energy and Economics Studies (CEES), we strive to make high-quality academic publishing accessible and transparent. Below is our fee policy for academic monograph publishing:

1. Peer Review and Editorial Processing

  • No Initial Submission Fee: Authors are not charged for submitting their manuscripts for consideration.
  • Peer Review Costs: All manuscripts undergo rigorous peer review. If accepted, a publication fee applies to cover the cost of the review process.

2. Publication Costs

  • Standard Publication Fee: Accepted manuscripts are subject to a fee based on the following factors:
    • Word count: Manuscripts between 50,000 and 300,000 words are eligible.
    • Complexity: Books requiring extensive graphics, tables, or specialized formatting may incur additional charges.
  • Fee Waivers and Discounts: Authors who complete publication authorization by March 1, 2025, may qualify for free online publication, provided the manuscript:
    • Is independently authored.
    • Meets length criteria (50,000–300,000 words).
    • Successfully passes peer review.

3. Services Included in the Fee

  • Standard Services:
    • DOI registration for the monograph.
    • ISBN assignment for both print and electronic versions.
    • Metadata creation and dissemination for discoverability.
    • Basic cover design and typesetting.
  • Optional Add-Ons:
    • Enhanced cover design or customized typesetting.
    • Marketing and promotion services.

4. Open Access Option

Authors may choose to publish their work under an Open Access model, making the book freely accessible online. This option requires an additional fee to cover the cost of open-access licensing and distribution.

5. Payment Terms

  • Payment is required upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication.
  • Flexible payment plans may be available upon request.

6. Printing and Distribution

  • Authors receive a high-quality PDF of the final book for personal use or independent printing.
  • Print-on-demand services are available at an additional cost.
