Revisions and Resubmissions

Responding to Feedback and Resubmitting Your Manuscript

At the Center for Energy and Economics Studies, we value the peer review process as a key component of enhancing the quality and integrity of the research we publish. After the initial review, authors are often asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. This section provides guidance on how to handle revisions for both academic books and journal articles.

  1. Academic Books (https://ceesus.org/index.php/books)

Responding to Reviewer Feedback:
When your academic book manuscript is returned with reviewer comments, it's important to carefully review each point and make thoughtful revisions. Here's how to proceed:

  • Understand the Feedback: Review the comments carefully, paying attention to both major and minor suggestions. If something is unclear, feel free to contact the editor for clarification.
  • Be Professional and Constructive: Address each reviewer’s feedback respectfully. Even if you disagree with certain points, provide a reasoned response and explain why.
  • Revise Your Manuscript: Incorporate the necessary changes based on the feedback. For example, you might need to adjust the structure of your book, improve clarity in certain chapters, or expand on specific arguments or research findings.

Resubmitting Your Manuscript:
Once revisions are made, resubmit your manuscript via our platform at Center for Energy and Economics Studies. Ensure that all changes are clearly marked so that reviewers and editors can easily identify them. You may be asked to submit a separate document explaining how you have addressed each reviewer comment.

  • Prepare a Revision Letter: This is a brief letter outlining how you’ve responded to the feedback. For each reviewer comment, include an explanation of the change or justification if you chose not to make a suggested revision.
  • Final Manuscript Submission: Upload the revised manuscript along with the revision letter to the books.ceesus.org platform for re-evaluation.

  1. Academic Journal Articles (eett.us)

Responding to Reviewer Feedback:
For journal articles submitted to the Center for Energy and Economics Studies, responding to reviewer feedback is a critical step in the publication process. Follow these steps to revise your manuscript:

  • Review All Comments: Read the reviewer feedback carefully and consider each suggestion. If you have any doubts about the comments, feel free to contact the editor for clarification.
  • Revise with Care: Make revisions according to the feedback provided. This could involve reworking sections of your article, clarifying arguments, adding more references, or addressing any errors pointed out by reviewers.
  • Respect Reviewer Suggestions: It's essential to respond thoughtfully to each comment. If you disagree with any suggestion, provide a well-argued response justifying your decision to retain the original version.

Resubmitting Your Manuscript:
Once you’ve made the necessary changes, submit the revised manuscript to eett.us, the journal’s submission system. Be sure to include a revision letter explaining how you addressed each of the reviewers’ comments.

  • Prepare a Revision Letter: This letter should detail how you’ve responded to each reviewer comment. For each point, explain the changes made or provide a rationale for not making the suggested revision.
  • Submit the Final Version: Once revisions are complete, submit the final version of your manuscript to eett.us. Make sure to upload the revision letter as well.

General Tips for Both Academic Books and Journal Articles:

  • Be Thorough: Reviewers often provide valuable insights to improve your work. Be as comprehensive as possible when revising, ensuring that all aspects of the feedback are addressed.
  • Stay Professional: Even if the feedback is critical, it is essential to maintain a professional tone and approach when responding. Remember that the goal is to enhance the quality of your work.
  • Clarify Major Changes: If the revisions are extensive, consider providing a brief summary or a list of key changes made in the manuscript.
  • Timeliness: Ensure that revisions are completed within the timeframe specified by the editor. Prompt responses will help ensure a smooth and efficient publication process.
  • Be Prepared for Further Revisions: After resubmission, there may be additional rounds of feedback. Prepare to make further revisions as necessary to meet the standards of publication.
