Information on Your Rights Regarding the Use and Distribution of Your Work
At the Center for Energy and Economics Studies, we believe in upholding the rights of authors while ensuring the widespread accessibility and impact of scholarly work. This section outlines your rights as an author, including those related to the use and distribution of your manuscript, both before and after publication.
1. Copyright Ownership
Upon publication, the Center for Energy and Economics Studies holds the copyright for all works published, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. As the author, you retain the rights to:
- Reproduce and Distribute: You may use your work for educational and non-commercial purposes, such as within your own classroom or as part of a course curriculum.
- Share Your Work: Authors may share their work on personal websites, institutional repositories, or within academic networks, following the relevant licensing terms.
- Republish: Authors can request permission to republish their work in other journals, books, or platforms, subject to the publisher’s approval.
2. Open Access and Licensing
We are committed to open access publishing. Our works are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, which allows you as the author to:
- Freely Share and Adapt: The CC BY 4.0 license permits anyone to share, distribute, remix, and build upon your work, as long as they credit you appropriately.
- Global Access: Your work will be freely accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world, which ensures maximum visibility and impact.
By publishing under the CC BY 4.0 license, you ensure that your work reaches a wider audience while retaining the recognition for your original contributions.
3. Right to Share and Reuse
As an author, you have the right to:
- Share the Published Work: You can share your work with peers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, making sure proper attribution is given.
- Reuse in Other Works: You can reuse parts of the published work (e.g., figures, tables, text) in other publications, presentations, and research projects, as long as you comply with the licensing terms.
In accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license, you can:
- Use the content commercially (if applicable) while ensuring you credit the original work.
- Reuse and adapt your work without the need for additional permissions, provided you maintain proper attribution.
4. No Restrictions on Preprints
You are welcome to submit your work as a preprint to an appropriate repository before submitting it to Center for Energy and Economics Studies. Preprints will not be considered a formal publication, allowing you to share your work and receive feedback prior to formal peer review.
5. Right to a Revision and Correction Process
As the author, you have the right to:
- Submit Revisions: After the peer review process, you will have the opportunity to revise your manuscript based on feedback from reviewers.
- Request Corrections: In the event of an error post-publication, you have the right to request corrections or retractions. This will be handled according to our Retraction and Correction Policy.
6. Commercial and Non-Commercial Use of Your Work
While we hold the copyright, as an author, you retain the rights to:
- Commercial Use: In cases where you would like to republish or commercially use your work (e.g., in textbooks, other journals, or through conference presentations), you may request permission to do so under the terms specified by the publisher.
- Non-Commercial Use: Your non-commercial use of your work (e.g., personal distribution, academic presentations) is encouraged, as long as proper attribution is maintained.
7. Attribution and Acknowledgment
You are entitled to be recognized as the author of your work. The attribution of your authorship should be included whenever the work is reused or shared. This ensures that your contributions are acknowledged in line with academic standards.
